Aaj Ka Panchang – 2025-04-10 | Tithi, Nakshatra, Muhurat, Rahu Kaal

Introduction

According to Hindu Calendar or Panchang, it is 28th day of the Hindu Month Chaitra on today, the day is Thursday and the date is 10 April, 2025. Chaitra is the First month in the Hindu calendar system in the same manner January is in the Gregorian calendar system. Hindu Panchang Today

Panchang or Panchangam is comprised of five elements. That’s why it derives the name ‘Panchang (Panch means ‘Five’ and Angam means ‘Part’). The five parts of it are – Tithi, Diwas, Nakshatra, Karanam or Karan, and Yoga. Here is the Hindu Panchang Today for 10 April, 2025– 

 

Tithi

‘Tithi’, is the day according to lunar cycle of Moon. It is decided according to moon’s relative movements. Therefore, the start of a Tithi and end of a Tithi can be different for each day and varies over the month and years. In a lunar month, there are 30 lunar days, 15 in Krishna Paksha (Wanning Phase of Moon), and, 15 in Shukla Paksha (Waxing Phase of Moon). The duration of a Tithi is about 21 to 24 hours.

  • Phaksha – Shukla Paksha

 

Diwas

Diwas, is the day according to solar cycle of Sun. We have seven days or Diwas in a week the count of which synchronize with the Gregorian Calendar. These seven days or Diwas are – Ravivar (Sunday), Somvar (Monday), Mangalwar (Tuesday), Budhwar(Wednesday), Guruvar(Thursday), Shukravar(Friday), Shanivar(Saturday).

Nakshatra

Moon’s ecliptic path has been divided into 27 parts each covering an area 13020’. Therefore, in Hindu Calendar System, there are 27 Nakshatras. Usually, the moon travels 10 to 150 on its path. Hence, the duration of Nakshatra can be upto 24 hours for a day. 

The 27 Nakshatras  are – Ashwini, Bharani, Krittika, Rohini, Mrigashira, Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Vishakha, Anuradha, Jyeshtha, Mula, Purvashadha, Uttarashadha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati.

  • Aaj Ka Nakshatra or Today’s Nakshatra – Purva Falguni up to 12:24 PM

 

Karan

Karan means ‘The Time To Do’. It signifies a good or auspicious to start a new work that could be related to any event such as marriage, new business, etc. In each ‘Tithi’ there are two ‘Karans’. Meanwhile, there are total 11 Karans, out of which four are fixed and 7 repeats in recurring style. The 11 Karans are – Bava, Balava, Kaulava, Taitila, Garaja, Vanija, Vishti (Bhadra), Shakuni, Chatushpad, Naga, Kimstughna. 

 

  • Today’s Karan – Kaulava up to 11:55 AM, Taitila up to (01:00 Am, 11 Apr 2025)

 

Yoga

Yoga in Hindu Panchang refers to sum of Longitude of Sun and Moon. The sum is then divided into 27 parts, resulting to 27 Yogas. It refers to the influence or impact of the time and the distinct quality or nature of the day. Each Yoga persists for 24 hours and can be two Yogas in one Lunar day. 

The 27 Yogas are like this – Vishkumbh, Preeti, Ayushman, Saubhagya, Shobhan, Atigand, Sukarma, Dhriti, Shool, Gand, Vriddhi, Dhruva, Vyaghat, Harshan, Vajra, Siddhi, Vyatipat, Variyan, Parigha, Shiva, Siddha, Sadhya, Shubha, Shukla, Brahma, Indra, and, Vaidhriti.
